In this hour, the Lord is sounding a clear warning to His people: “Do not be caught off guard by the Leviathan spirit.”
This ancient demonic spirit is still at work, slithering beneath the surface of relationships, leadership teams, marriages, and ministries. It is subtle, patient, and deadly…twisting truth, distorting perception, and turning hearts that were once united in covenant against one another.
The Twisting Serpent
In Job 41, Leviathan is described as a creature that “makes the deep boil like a pot.” This isn’t just poetic language, it’s a prophetic picture. The spirit of Leviathan stirs the waters of communication and emotion, creating confusion and chaos where there once was peace and understanding.
Leviathan is a twisting spirit. It distorts the meaning of words, amplifies offense, and feeds pride until unity is fractured. When Leviathan moves, what was once a covenant becomes a conflict, and what was once discernment turns into suspicion.
This is why so many covenant relationships are under attack right now: marriages, ministry partnerships, spiritual sons and fathers, pastors and intercessors, leaders and teams.
Leviathan’s goal is to destroy trust, because where there is no trust, there can be no covenant.
How Leviathan Operates Today
Leviathan is most comfortable in the waters of offense and pride. It thrives in environments where words are not clarified, where hearts are not quick to forgive, and where humility has been replaced with self-justification.
Here’s how it manifests today:
-
It twists communication. What was spoken in love is heard as accusation. A moment of correction becomes a perceived betrayal.
-
It magnifies misunderstanding. One small assumption becomes a mountain of suspicion.
-
It fuels isolation. Those who once joined in covenant pull away emotionally and spiritually.
-
It mocks reconciliation. Pride whispers, “They should apologize first,” keeping hearts divided.
-
It attacks vision. Once unity breaks, the corporate assignment fractures, and the purpose God intended for that covenant begins to fade.
When Leviathan slithers between covenant partners, husbands and wives, pastors and intercessors, apostles and prophets, it doesn’t roar with obvious evil. It twists with subtle suggestion:
“They don’t understand you.”
“They’ve turned on you.”
“You can’t trust them anymore.”
And before long, what was a divine connection becomes a demonic division.
Why This Attack Is Intensifying
Every covenant relationship ordained by God carries territorial and generational authority. When two or more walk in agreement under heaven, they can build altars, shift regions, and birth movements that destroy darkness.
So, when the Lord begins to awaken regions for revival, Leviathan rises to break the bonds of covenant before unity can produce a breakthrough.
That’s why marriages are under pressure. That’s why ministry teams are splintering. That’s why friendships that once carried the presence of God now sit in cold silence.
The enemy knows that divided hearts cannot host divine glory.
The Strategy of Heaven
But here’s the hope — God has already declared victory.
“In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong, will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent… and He will slay the dragon that is in the sea.” — Isaiah 27:1
The Lord is raising up a people who will refuse to let offense dictate their obedience. Those who remain humble, who seek to clarify instead of accuse, and who choose reconciliation over reaction, these are the ones who will overcome Leviathan’s twisting.
Here are three weapons of deliverance:
Humility. Pride is Leviathan’s oxygen; humility suffocates it.
Clarification. Go to the person, not to others. Ask, don’t assume.
Covenant Honor. Protect the relationship more than your opinion.
This is the hour for the Body of Christ to be healed from division and to recover the strength of covenant connection. God is re-forging relationships that hell tried to twist apart.
A Final Word
Beloved, this is not just a warning…it’s an invitation.
Do not allow Leviathan to twist your perception, your communication, or your covenant. Guard your heart. Protect your relationships. Pray for discernment and humility.
For where the spirit of Leviathan has brought confusion, the Spirit of Truth is bringing clarity. Where the serpent has divided, the sword of the Lord will restore.
Stay alert. Stay humble. Stay united.
Victory belongs to those who refuse to take the bait of offense.
