A few weeks ago I had a dream where I was alerted to a news update concerning the upcoming election. Instead of clicking on the link to go directly to the news article, I clicked on my app which would allow me to watch the news channel live. The news anchor was reporting that all voting across the United States was at a standstill due to a malfunction in the software nationwide causing the servers to be shut down. As I watched the news several reports were coming in that due to the software malfunction, no votes could be accounted for as correct. 

The dream shifted to what I recognized as the next day and I saw the headline across the bottom of the news channel, along with the reporter holding up a physical copy of a newspaper (I remember how that struck me odd as if we had gone back to physical means of news instead of digital) with the headline: Unprecedented Election Gives US a Promoted President 

In the dream the reporter said that due to the nationwide shutdown, our nation was incapable of holding a national election, therefore the new President of the United States was promoted to the position. Making them the first in US history to be appointed by promotion. It is important to share that I never saw a person or heard the name of the one who was promoted to President. I could only see an image, but it wasn’t clear enough. Almost like it was intentionally blurred. That was the dream in its entirety.

I want to be clear in stating that I am not implying that this is (absolutely) going to happen. I cannot say that because I did not hear the Lord say this is going to happen. I can only take from the dream that we could see something like this occur, therefore the Body of Christ (especially those who call the United States home) must be diligent in our prayers for our nation. Now, I want to also be clear that I honestly believe that there could be a plan being set into motion to see that we are unable to have an election in November. 

If we look at the dream we can recognize that it carries a significant impression, especially concerning the upcoming election and its potential impact on the nation. While dreams are deeply personal and can have various interpretations, I want to share some reflective thoughts and suggestions for our strategy through prayer as we move toward November: 

Pray for our Heightened Awareness: This dream is a reminder of the importance that we have as Sons and Daughters of God, and as citizens of the United States to stay informed and be vigilant about national events. Especially during critical moments that can impact multiple generations like elections. It highlights the need to be prepared at all times for unexpected scenarios and to remain engaged in the knowledge and understanding of the context of our current events.  “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints” (Ephesians 6:18)

Pray for the Stability of our Nation: The possible scenario of a nationwide malfunction should alert us to the need for fervent prayer for the stability and integrity of the electoral process. The Body of Christ can place importance in our prayers that voting systems will be secure, reliable, and resilient and that any disruptions are effectively managed. “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:12)

Pray for our Current and Future Leadership: The concept of a “promoted President” could symbolize a broader possibility about leadership and authority, and not something as simple as a single person. It can serve as a reminder for the Body of Christ to pray for wise and just leadership, whether elected or appointed and to seek God’s guidance for those who are in positions of power. “So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.” (Romans 13:1-2)

Pray for us to be Prepared: This dream also reflects a possible call for the Body of Christ to be spiritually prepared. The dream can encourage believers to strengthen their faith and readiness to face any uncertainties that they are faced with and lean into their trust in God’s plan and purpose. “Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love.” (1 Corinthians 16:13-14)

Pray for our Communities and Unity: This dream highlights the important need for unity in the Body of Christ and in our nation. The collective prayer among the Body of Christ is the only way that we will see unity built upon a firm foundation of Christ. It serves as a reminder of the importance of coming together in prayer and the now need to support the nation as we continue to seek God’s guidance for our future. “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

While dreams can be powerful, it’s important for you and me to approach them with prayerful discernment and to seek further clarity from God. This dream isn’t a doom and gloom for our nation. Rather it is a wake-up warning for the Body of Christ to be praying and not caught off guard. We can do this through fervent prayer, staying in the written word of God, and cultivating our relationships with other believers. As Sons and Daughters of God, we should be proactive in our ways to respond to dreams like this, and not reactive from the ideology of our political preferences. 

Don’t be discouraged. Don’t be fearful. Don’t become angry or frustrated with the state of our nation. Instead, choose to stand firm and be encouraged because you have been made aware of a potential plan of a spiritual enemy. As a Son or Daughter of God, you have been given the Kingdom authority to “Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” (Ephesians 6:11-13)

God is far from done with the United States, and He wants to use each of us to pray His word and His truth over this land that He brought forth and loves so that we can see one nation UNDER GOD and INDIVISIBLE FROM GOD with liberty and justice for all.
